The Total Marketing Story

Total Marketing Associates, Inc. is an innovative and progressive manufacturer's representative firm concentrating on products in the Lawn & Garden/Outdoor Living industry. In 2010, we celebrated 33 years in the "Growing Industry" and look forward to many more years representing North America's finest manufacturers to retailers and wholesalers in these key product categories.

The company was founded in July 1977 by Fred and Judy Cimaglio. Fred continues today as the Chairman of the Board of Total Marketing, and Judy as Vice-president of Finance. Chris Cimaglio is the President of the Company, while Kim Cimaglio serves as Chief Operating Officer, and Tim Cimaglio is a Partner and head of Outdoor Interiors, LLC. Our Sales Team covers states in the Midwest, Central and Rocky Mountain states, with retail support in Arizona, California and other key regions for selected accounts.
We are extremely proud of the manufacturers we represent and the accomplishments we have been able to make in the marketplace together. Our chief objective is to always earn the order and to add value to the relationship. We feel this is best achieved through the development of sound marketing programs, with full back-up support at retail. Our dedicated staff of specialists insure proper implementation, placement, sell-through and feedback.
Our Sales Team is aggressive, creative and dedicated to our customers. Their can-do attitude and experiences in the marketplace make them a key resource, not only for the retailer just getting started in this category, but also for those who have been in it for years. Our team can also provide additional help and support as needed for any of our customers.
Market Coverage can be defined in many ways. We prefer to define it as the continual improvement in relationships built and strengthened by first getting to know the buyer's needs and wants; meeting them; and then going the "extra mile". Our Sales Associates bring years of experience, training and a positive attitude to every sales and follow-through opportunity. We sincerely strive to not just meet customer needs and wants, but to exceed them at every opportunity!
Our Marketing Department is state-of the-art and represents a vehicle for us to add even more value through the very latest in computer technology and creative services. A complete and extensive library of educational and training manuals has been developed and maintained for use by our customers. Current seminars and manuals include topics such as merchandising, advertising and promotion, care and handling and product information on a wide range of Lawn & Garden subjects.

In September of 1997, the company moved into a new, state-of-the-art facility to serve our manufacturers and customers better and to continue our mission: To do the Best, With the Best, For the Best! In 2008, a new succession plan and continual strategic planning has handed the business to a new generation of leadership committed to continuing the goals originally set by our founder. Our culture is one of continual improvement and all Associates undergo continual training and learning. This is so we can proactively respond to changes in the marketplace before they happen and be of more service to our manufacturers and the customers we mutually serve.
